The second lecture of Yintai Salon, initiated by the "Jiang Family and Modern China Research Program" in June 2016
On the evening of June 19, 2016, the second phase of the "Yintai Salon" initiated by the "Jiang Family and Modern Chinese History Research Program" of the Yintai Public Welfare Foundation was successfully held. The theme of this salon is "Interpreting the Republic of China: The Daily Life and Great History of Political Figures". Against the backdrop of the history of the Republic of China, this salon explores the daily lives of its leaders, examining how their upbringing, personality traits, religious beliefs, interests, and hobbies affect their decision-making and behavior, and thus how they influence the course of history. Thus, we can deepen our understanding of historical figures and specific historical events from the details, both ordinary and unusual.
Professor Wang Qisheng from the Department of History at Peking University, academic committee member of the "Jiang Family and Modern Chinese History Research Program" of Yintai Public Welfare Foundation, and Luo Min, researcher at the Institute of Modern History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and director of the Republican History Research Office, had a dialogue and exchange on this topic.
