The "Blue Pioneer" program is jointly supported by Yintai Philanthropy, Paradise Ecological Protection Foundation, Paradise Director Wang Xiaoduan, and David and Lucille Parker Foundation, aiming to cultivate local marine public welfare talents in China. The project is executed by the Environmental Research Center of Duke Kunshan University, the Sustainable Investment Research Program, and the Duke Kunshan University Education Development Foundation. Since its launch in 2018, 150 partners have completed the training. In 2025, we welcome 24 new partners with diverse backgrounds. With a shared love for ocean conservation, they look forward to enhancing their professional abilities, working together to collide and spark cooperation, and contributing to the protection of the ocean.

2025, Blue Pioneer set off! On the morning of June 13th, the 2025 Blue Pioneer Plan was officially launched. Professor Zhang Junjie, Director of the Sustainable Investment Research Program at Duke Kunshan University, delivered a speech at the launch ceremony, welcoming new partners and sharing the story behind the Blue Pioneer Program. Professor Zhang Junjie immediately brought the first lesson of "ESG and Sustainable Investment", sorting out ESG related policies and exploring their connection with public welfare undertakings.微信图片_20250813095855.jpg

Project roadshow practical exercise

How to attract potential supporters to pay attention to your project within three minutes? Designing marine public welfare projects and completing fundraising implementation is a complete "entrepreneurial" closed loop. For this purpose, the training invited Mr. Liu Chennan from Xianfeng Public Welfare, Ms. Bai Juan from the sponsor round table, and Ms. Li Zhilin from Charity Box to lead the students in practical exercises. The three mentors also shared their years of experience and insights in the industry, helping students understand the diversity and complexity of funding perspectives.

The intersection of ocean public welfare and field practice

The next day of the training focuses on "ocean anthropology", exploring how field investigation methods and a long-term perspective can be applied to ocean public welfare.

Although the three-day training time is short, it is full of gains. Through the blue pioneer's characteristic mechanism of "Brubru Island", partners quickly shorten their distance and establish connections; Especially with one-on-one in-depth conversations, everyone gained a deeper understanding of each other's work and vision, and collided to create rich inspiration for collaboration. The energy of the initial gathering is gathering, and in the following four training sessions, this unstoppable group of blue new forces will surely ignite even more dazzling sparks!
