The Xikou Xuedou Mountain Scenic Area, where the event is held, is currently operated and managed by Yintai Tourism Industry Group. The scenic area is a national level scenic spot and a national 5A level tourist attraction, with a total tourist area of 140 square kilometers. At the first 2018 Global Tourism Destination Marketing Summit held in April this year, the scenic spot won the "Best Tourist Attraction in China" award with the second highest number of votes, thanks to its outstanding advantages in Republican culture, outstanding landscape scenery, and long-standing Buddhist culture.

The "Starry Sky Reading" activity of Zhejiang Radio and Television Group is a large-scale brand event of "tourism+culture" supported by the Propaganda Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee. The all media outdoor reading mode has been rated as the "Most Innovative Program in the Asia Pacific Region 2016-2017" and "Influential Chinese Media - The Most Innovative and Influential Program of 2017".

Xikou is the "hometown of the Jiang family" and is known as the "first town of Republican culture". Xuedou Mountain in Xikou is famous for its "Maitreya Dojo". The "Starry Sky Reading" event is themed around the poetry and history of the Republic of China, leading the audience of the evening party and listening to the live broadcast to tell the legendary story of the continuous integration of millennium old Xikou and the historical process of China under the starry sky.

It is understood that Xikou is a protection and exhibition center for the culture of the Republic of China in China. In 1996 and 2006, the State Council announced eight historical sites of the Republic of China, including the Fenghao House and Wenchang Pavilion, as national key cultural relics protection units in two batches. Since last year, Xikou Tourism Development Co., Ltd. has been working on the construction of the "Xikou Republican Culture Museum" at the former site of Wuling School. After the museum is fully opened, it will become the only museum dedicated to Republican culture in the country.
