During the event, He Li from Zhejiang Zhoushan Marine Environmental Protection Development Center and Cao Man from Ocean University of China, who were invited to participate in the discussion and dialogue, respectively reported their learning experiences in the Blue Pioneer Program from the perspectives of technology and marine protection, and marine protection and sustainable consumption.
“ The Blue Pioneer Program "is a marine public welfare talent training project jointly funded by Intime Foundation, Peach Blossom Spring Ecological Protection Foundation, and Parker Foundation in the United States, and undertaken by the Master of Environmental Policy program at Duke Kunshan University.
Norwegians have a special love for the ocean and have many advanced experiences in protecting marine ecology. The king and queen invited Jack Ma and members of the Peach Blossom Spring Foundation's "Blue Pioneer" project to discuss topics related to ocean conservation and sustainable development.
Jack Ma said that talent is the key to ocean conservation, and only by changing people's thinking about the ocean and improving their skills can we awaken society's action for ocean conservation. The king and queen strongly agree with Jack Ma's viewpoint. They believe that cleaning up marine litter is important, but it is more important to encourage the public to reduce the generation of litter, especially to raise awareness among young consumers about protecting the ocean.
2016 In, Yintai Public Welfare Foundation, together with Taohuayuan Ecological Protection Foundation and Paikede Foundation, jointly launched the "Blue Pioneer Plan", which is a project for cultivating marine conservation talents based on this concept. The goal is to cultivate 100 marine public welfare talents and incubate 20 marine public welfare institutions in the next 10 years.
This plan aims to increase opportunities for young people to interact with the ocean through a series of educational training and offline activities, go to the front line, understand the ocean, and learn about ocean conservation. Awaken young people's love for the ocean, cultivate young conservation talents, and devote themselves to ocean conservation actions.
2018 On June 2nd of the year, the second phase of the "Blue Pioneer Plan" was officially launched. After the cooperation with Peking University, this year's "Blue Pioneer Program" has Kunshan Duke University as its talent training base.
