The 6th Tourism Development Conference of Shanxi Province in 2020 "Entering Yanmen Pass"

On the morning of September 10th, one of the important events of the 6th Shanxi Tourism Development Conference in 2020, the "Entering Yanmen Pass" ceremony, was successfully held at the Yanmen Pass Scenic Area under Yintai Culture and Tourism Group. Wang Xiaofeng, member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Lou Yangsheng, Secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, and Lin Wu, Deputy Secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Governor, attended the ceremony. At the same time, ambassadors and representatives from six countries including South Africa, the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Belarus, Morocco, and Armenia attended the event.

The "Entering Yanmen Pass" ceremony invited renowned historian and one of the speakers of CCTV's "Hundred Lectures", Ji Lianhai, professor of the School of Literature at Henan University, renowned cultural scholar, and one of the speakers of the "Hundred Lectures", Wang Liqun, and three scholars, Executive Vice President of the China Great Wall Society and famous Great Wall expert Dong Yaohui, to visit the Yanmen Pass Great Wall and share three stories about the Great Wall at the foot of the Great Wall.

"Yanmen Pass was the forefront of promoting ethnic integration and achieving the glory of Jin merchants. It was also an important fortress for the Eighth Route Army to resist the Japanese invaders." At the ceremony, Ji Lianhai reviewed the glorious history of Yanmen Pass since King Mu of Zhou patrolled the border and King Wuling of Zhao, Hu Fu, rode and shot, and the story of it becoming a trading fortress for Jin merchants in the later peaceful era. Wang Liqun shared with the guests the historical story of the famous Zhao general Li Mu stationed at Yanmen and "annihilated 100000 Xiongnu cavalry in World War I" to appreciate the military and cultural value of the Yanmen Great Wall in ancient times.

"Beautiful Scenery of Shanxi with Ancient Chinese Civilization - Great Wall Expo in Shanxi" is the theme of this tourism development conference, and multiple activities are centered around the Great Wall theme. On the evening of September 9th, the opening ceremony of this conference, the "Great Wall Night" special event, was held at the North Gate Square of Xinzhou Ancient City. In addition to many Shanxi celebrities participating in this evening party in a special way, many well-known artists will also come to the venue to perform, bringing everyone a wonderful cultural and artistic performance.

The conference aims to create an influential Great Wall event brand through a series of multi-level, multi form, and multi format related activities, enhance the influence, attractiveness, and competitiveness of Shanxi's cultural tourism, and promote the high-quality development of Shanxi's cultural tourism industry.

The Great Wall Yanmenguan section is a world cultural heritage and a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is located in Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province and is one of the famous "Outer Three Passes" of the Great Wall (namely Yanmen Pass, Ningwu Pass, and Piantou Pass). Yanmen Pass is highly favored and loved by Chinese and foreign tourists for its unique border style and rich cultural connotations of the Great Wall.
