Yintai Public Welfare | 2020 Public Welfare Protection Area List Update

2020 In the year, the Social Welfare Protection Area Alliance updated the list of public welfare protection place names. Among the 26 recommended public welfare protected areas by alliance members, we evaluated the protected areas that initially met the standards based on the "Guidelines for Social Public Welfare Protected Areas".

According to the assessment, 51 public welfare protected areas have been included in the 2020 list of public welfare protected areas. 51 public welfare protected areas cover an area of 10311 square kilometers. In addition, we will also include 5 potential public welfare protected areas that have not yet met the standards in the preliminary list.

The alliance will select demonstration public welfare protected areas in the list based on alliance standards, conduct dynamic evaluations of the protected areas in the list, and dynamically update and manage the list according to protection actions.

Social welfare protected areas are a new type of protected area governance model that utilizes the power of social welfare, with government supervision, private management, and coordinated protection and development. The Social Welfare Protected Areas Alliance is a network jointly initiated and established by 24 public welfare organizations including Yintai Public Welfare Foundation and Taohuayuan Foundation in 2017, hoping to gather social forces in public welfare protection, promote the development of public welfare protected areas in China, and effectively protect 1% of the country's land area together.
