On October 20th, Lakefront University celebrated its fifth anniversary and officially opened its new campus. In 2015, Hupan University was jointly founded by nine entrepreneurs and renowned scholars, including Liu Chuanzhi, Jack Ma, Feng Lun, Guo Guangchang, Shi Yuzhu, Shen Guojun, Qian Yingyi, Cai Hongbin, and Shao Xiaofeng, with the aim of discovering and training entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial spirit, adhering to national conditions, and practicing social responsibility. President Jack Ma proposed that "Lakefront University will last for 300 years, hoping to cultivate no more than 3000 entrepreneurs, adhere to the bottom line, improve society, and promote progress in the next 30 years."

Since its establishment 5 years ago, Hupan University has enrolled 7 batches of students, with a total of 11788 students registering. Only 254 students were ultimately admitted, with an admission rate of only 2%. Although the number of admitted students is relatively small, these students have directly solved employment problems exceeding one million; The average age of the students at enrollment is only 38 years old, but the average entrepreneurial experience exceeds 11 years. The school has offered a total of 271 classes, half of which are taught by entrepreneurs.

As a founding member of Hupan University, Shen Guojun, the founder and chairman of Intime Group, has personally taught at Hupan University multiple times, sharing and exchanging his accumulated business ideas and insights with students, and continuously providing suggestions and recommendations for school management; On the occasion of its 5th anniversary, Yintai Public Welfare Foundation donated 50 million yuan to Hupan University to actively support future campus construction and academic research development.

Lakeside University advocates that Lakeside students "never graduate" and that every Lakeside student is a co builder of the school. Students who have completed three years and successfully passed the defense will be awarded the "Standing Apricot Book" and will have their own ginkgo tree on the new campus, "Standing Apricot for Three Years, Keeping Promise for a Hundred Years". In this fifth anniversary event of the founding of the university, the first board of directors and all students from the first to third sessions planted ginkgo trees with their own signatures, symbolizing the hope of Lakefront University that students will have more social responsibility, shoulder missions, promote entrepreneurial spirit, and make greater contributions to society.
