“ The "Blue Pioneer" program was initiated in 2017 by Shen Guojun, founder and honorary chairman of Yintai Public Welfare Foundation and executive chairman of Taohuayuan Foundation. It was jointly supported by Yintai Public Welfare Foundation, Taohuayuan Foundation, and Parker Foundation in the United States, with the aim of cultivating frontline talents for China's marine protection. Since the project was launched four years ago, 80 students have received training in ocean protection, public welfare innovation, and public welfare organization management. Students not only have the opportunity to receive excellent lectures from industry experts, but also have the chance to participate in practical activities at frontline ocean protection institutions. During the learning process, they can also propose their own ideas for ocean protection work and receive funding support from the "Blue Pioneer" program, applying their knowledge to ocean protection.

The majority of the "Blue Pioneer" students in this issue come from frontline marine conservation organizations across the country, such as the Underwater Deep Blue, which carries out coral conservation in the diver community, and the Qingdao Marine Ecology Research Association, which focuses on sustainable fisheries; There are also a new group of local marine and polar conservation organizations, such as the Polar Guide Alliance and Polar Academy.
