Yintai Charity's "2017 Young Scholars Study Camp on Chinese Modern and Contemporary History" concludes

The graduation ceremony of the "2017 Yintai Public Welfare Chinese Modern History Young Scholars Study Camp" jointly organized by Yintai Public Welfare Foundation and Zhejiang University Chiang Kai shek and Modern China Research Center was held at Xikou, Fenghua.

There were a total of 55 applications for this study camp, and the academic committee selected 15 students based on academic standards and admission rules. The study camp has hired seven well-known scholars from China and abroad, including Yang Tianshi, Lv Fangshang, Pan Zuov, Chen Hongmin, Laura, Wang Qisheng, and Lin Xiaoting, as mentors.

The study camp is divided into two parts: June 6-8, consisting of lectures by mentors, student exchanges, mentor comments, and historical research; Starting from the 9th, the students attended and observed the "Fourth International Symposium on Chiang Kai shek and Modern China" throughout the entire process. On the 11th, they went to Xikou, Fenghua to attend the closing ceremony and observe historical sites. At the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman Xin Xiangdong of Yintai Public Welfare Foundation and mentors such as Yang Tianshi, Chen Hongmin, and Lv Fang presented graduation certificates to the students and volunteers.

Xu Liang, a doctoral student from Zhejiang University, spoke as a representative of the students, thanking the Yintai Public Welfare Foundation and the Zhejiang University Chiang Kai shek and Modern China Research Center for providing valuable learning opportunities, thanking the 7 mentors and 3 counselors for their careful guidance, and expressing confidence in taking over the academic banner of Chinese modern history and the Chiang family research.

In the afternoon, the students visited historical sites such as Fenghao House, Wenchang Pavilion, Xiaoyangfang, Miaogaotai, Qianzhangyan, etc., experiencing firsthand the people, events, and objects that they often "meet" in historical books. They traveled through time and space, had vivid imaginations, and deepened their understanding of history.

That evening, the students watched the Chiang Kai shek temple play "Dreaming Back to Xikou" at the Wushan Temple in Xikou, and participated in the Wuling Lecture Hall history salon "Chiang Kai shek's Hometown, Family, and Love" hosted by four professors: Chen Hongmin, Lv Fangshang, Pei Jinghan, and Lin Xiaoting.
